The Pig Bar-B-Q
The Pig Bar-B-Q is a 4th generation family run business! E.S. Murdock started "The Pig" in 1955 on Kings Rd. in Jacksonville, FL. While barbecue will always be our speciality, you can find an assortment of delicious seafood and breakfast at ALL of our locations!
In 1972, brothers Samir “Sam” and Munir “Mike Senior” Salameh, along with their wives Suad “Sue” and Basima, opened the first Sheik restaurant on the corner of 18th Street and Main Street in Jacksonville, Florida. That restaurant still operates today. From the very beginning the brothers knew that the keys to any successful restaurant are great service and great food.
Soul Food Bistro: and Seafood Café
The Soul Food Bistro was opened by The Potter’s House Christian Fellowship of Jacksonville, FL in 1998. The original name was The Potter’s House Cafe where the menu, size, and scale of the facility was significantly different. The original space was only around 600 sq.ft., but the place was packed and the word traveled fast about the extraordinary food. In 2007, the tiny Cafe expanded and modernized into what is known today as The Potter’s House Soul Food Bistro, a 5,800 sq.ft. facility located in the newly renovated Kingdom Plaza (formerly the Normandy Mall).
